Swarovski Crystal

Swarovski crystal is the invention from glass cutter Daniel Swarovski, in 1895 from Austria. His invention of special cutting machine enables him to produce finest crystal. The resulting facet angles are sharp and microscopically identical, giving the beads exceptional sparkle

Crystal is made by adding lead oxide to glass. The lead in crystal is what makes it sparkle and reflect colors so much more than plain glass. It also makes crystal heavier than glass. The higher the lead content, the better quality the crystal.

Notes:
The British Standard for crystal:
Fine crystal must contain 6% to 10% lead oxide
Lead crystal must contain 10% to 24% lead oxide
Fully leaded crystal must contain 24% or more lead oxide

***Swarovski crystal contains 32% of lead oxide!***

Though Swarovski crystal is 100% man made, but it qualifies as full leaded crystal.

Hence, do not worry your very own Swarovski crystal is not as shine as natural crystal. Because Swarovski Crystal glitters than any crystal and glass!
